What's in the bag

Lysine
Lysine is an essential amino acid, which means horses can only get lysine through their diet. Lysine is needed for protein synthesis, and if not getting enough lysine, it can restrict protein availability. So, if a horse is getting protein, but deficient in lysine, they can still be protein deficient.

Methionine
Another essential amino acid, methionine supports the health and integrity of a horse's tendons, ligaments, connective tissues and joints. Methionine is also a building block of keratin, which is needed to form healthy hair and hooves.

Threonine
Threonine is an essential amino acid, which plays an important role in healthy immune function and gut health, helping to build a healthy gut lining.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is fat-soluble vitamin and an antioxidant, and high levels are needed for horses with poor quality hay or pasture or horses that have undergone stress & training. Vitamin E is needed to support the horse’s immune system and protect cells, reducing tissue inflammation and protecting from free radicals.

Pre & Probiotics
Prebiotics are 'fuels' that aren't digestible by the horse but instead feed and nourish the good microbes in their gut. Probiotics are 'life microbes' and feeding them adds good living microbes to the gut, stabilising and promoting a healthy microbial population. Without a good microbial population in the hindgut, a horse is not able to effectively digest plant fibre material.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Lupin Fibre Boost differ from Lupin Fibre Cubes?
What are Lupin Hulls? How are they different to lupins?
Lupin hulls are the fibrous outer shell of the lupin that can be separated from the seed during processing. They are very high in digestible fibre and pectins, and low in starch and sugar. Most of the crude protein in lupins is held in the seed, not the hull. Read more about the difference between lupins and lupin hulls here.
Are lupin hulls high in protein like lupins?
Do lupin hulls have much nutritional value?
Why are lupin hulls classed as a super fibre?
What makes them safe for laminitis, EMS, PPID etc?
Lupin Fibre Cubes are low in starches and sugars (low in NSC – non-structural carbohydrates.)
Non-structural carbohydrates cause huge spikes in glucose and insulin when digested that can be detrimental to horses with these conditions. Because Lupin Fibre Boost is only 4.21% NSC and 0.2% starch which puts them in the safe range for these horses and ponies.
Why do they need to be fed soaked?
Lupin Fibre Cubes expand when they get wet, so they should be soaked prior to feeding to avoid expansion in the stomach.
Testimonials for Lupin Fibre Boost...

Jane B.
"After struggling to keep condition on my mare for the first time this year I decided to try her on lupin fibre boost. Within a few weeks of starting fibre boost her weight and coat condition has definitely improved and her energy level has increased I plan on continuing with fibre boost and would happily recommend it to others looking for a product suitable for ponies in need of something extra - particularly ponies prone to ulcers or laminitic episodes."

Sophie Warren
Eventing Rider
"I tried T&R's new Lupin Fibre Cubes when I couldn't get my usual imported beet-pulp and I definitely won't be going back. My Cushings horse and ulcer-prone pony both loved it so much they licked their bowls clean every time. But the real test was after a month and a half when my Cushings horse had her annual ACTH blood tests, and her levels were half of the maximum limits. Couldn't be happier, particular when the Lupin Fibre Cubes are almost half the price of what I'd been using before."

"I love it!!!! I have feed Lupin Fibre since that was bought out with great results but now not having to add a mineral supplement is amazing. I love keeping feeding as simple as possible without sacrificing performance, gut health or coat shine. And it ticks all the boxes. Also love that Spider, our Welsh A, our old pony with cushings, and the old TB (she gets Senior Cubes as well) can all have it."
